Two nights before we had her:)
I have been party planning for a couple months now:) We are going with a cupcake theme of course! Because Cate is our little Cup-Cate:) So I've been searching etsy for ideas and blog hopping and trying to find out how to make Cate's First birthday simply AMAZING:) I picked out the cake:) I'm still deciding on the invites! I picked out the colors too:)

For Tyler's one year birthday I had two birthday outfits. One for before the cake and one for after. I would just make sure she has a very good nap and just let the party happen. It will be fun.
I love the idea of a big first birthday. When I havechildren I will definitely have a blow out! After all, it is your one year mommaversary as well!

It's hard to believe that Cate is almost one! I love the last picture of her. We miss you guys too and we should definitely get together soon! We won't be there on Thursday:( but lets do somethign soon! The kiddos need to play and we need to catch up!
It's incredible how time flies! I am fresh out of birthday ideas but I have no doubt whatever you come up with will be amazing! Cate is lucky to have such a loving mom! xx
Em I can't believe she is so close to being the BIG 1!!! How fast this year has gone! We did a cupcake theme with pink and brown for Taegan's first birthday. That hair clip is super cute. I don't have a lot of ideas besides getting anything with cupcakes:) I can't wait to see what you come up with-it will be great!

So sweet! She is just a doll. You are a darling little family. I don't have kiddos yet, so, I'm not of much help, but, MY first birthday party was a fun polka dot theme (I've seen the pictures). Thought that was so cute. Cannot wait to see more of Cate'e big day as it gets clocer!

I love your idea of a cupcake theme. I recently picked up really adorable cupcake candles at a local boutique here in Boston. They are made by Design design (I think they have a website) and they have a bunch of other cupcake stuff too...
I also love hostess with the mostess for party ideas! Have fun planning - I am sure it will be fabulous.
This year has FLOWN by. I feel like I was just at the hospital to see Cate for the first time! She was so darn precious then and she has only gotten cuter over the year. Can't wait to celebrate her b-day with you guys!

Awww! So funny, but I want a cupcake theme for my first little girl, too! I think it's so perfect and age appropriate!
I also love a garden theme, but that might be better suited for a little older baby girl!

For both my boys it was very festive, filled with family, lots of messy cake pictures, and anything goes!

Emily!! I can't believe a year has gone by (almost) already! I've enjoyed seeing Miss Cate every 3 months for her photo sessions and I must admit I'm a little (ok, a lot) sad that we will be wrapping up her baby plan in a few short WEEKS! :( You are an amazing Momma and I've loved getting to know your family. Wow, time does go by so fast! Can't wait tosee all of the cute things you come up with. I have to be honest, my memory is so flighty these days. Once the kids get older all of the memories will come back to me. We just had the babies 1st birthday and the best part was she is my only little one that actually tore into her personal cake! Which was awesome!
