Busy Busy Bees

Hello my friends:)
We have been so busy lately!! Here is what we have been up too:)

* A couple weeks ago, a group of friends, who I met through blogging, got together at
Lindsey's house:), Megan, Katie, , Jessica and Megan were all there!! It was so much fun! I hope we can do it again soon:)




* Our friends Kaitlin and Steve had a cookout a week ago and it was so much! We all became friends because Ryan is fraternity brothers with most of the guys in the group:) We all really enjoy getting together and can just never find the time anymore. So I was so glad we were able to go and I always love catching up with everyone.... We pick up right where we left off:)



* Last week I had my high school reunion and then a family reunion on Saturday morning:) Both reunions were a good time:)

* On Saturday we were supposed to go to Texas and visit Ryan's MeMaw who had been ill. Unfortunately she passed away Friday morning:( So our plans changed and we went to Texas on Monday for the viewing, burial and memorial service.

Ryan spoke at the memorial service, along with his brother and two cousins. They all did a great job! MeMaw was a caring, beautiful women inside and out. She was the sweetest, kindest soul you will ever meet in your life. She always wanted everyone to be cheery and happy and did her best to make sure everyone was just that! We will miss her greatly and wish we would of gotten to say goodbye to her but we know she is in heaven with PaPaw and they are shining down on us everyday! We love you MeMaw

After the memorial service we went back to MeMaws and Ryan's cousins and aunt and mom were going through MeMaw's costume jewelry and Cate was able to try some on.. She is definitely a girlie girl:)






* Cate always loves reading and recently she has loved reading one book all the time. Her favorite book is "Ten Tiny Tadpoles." She picks it every time and crawls around with it and pays so close attention when it is read to her)




* Cate is a fish and LOVES to swim. We were at my parents last night and my brother took her for a dip:)






* I have been feeding Cate a lot of finger foods lately. I am always searching for new things to feed her. What are some favorite finger foods that your children like?? I struggle with the meat portion of the meals....

11 Months Old

My O My.... Where does time go? I ask myself that almost every single day. I cannot believe that Cate's first birthday is less than a month away. I feel like just yesterday she was itty bitty and sleeping in her bassinet in our room. I guess time really does fly when you are having fun. We are having so much fun with Cate. She is such an incredible little girl. She is happy all the time and brings so much joy to our lives. I really cannot remember how life was before her.

What Cate is up to at 11 Months:
* She is still crawling all over the place and pulling up on everything. I don't think she has any interest in walking yet. I try to walk with her and she just wants to be crawling.
* She is into everything. She has a million toys to play with and would rather be into our things: The dog bowl, my picture frames, magazines, her diapers, her wipes, the wallflowers, the dog toys, etc:)
* She says: Mamamama, Dadadaa, Daaaa Daaaa (daisy), Ba Ba(bottle), Rarah(Sarah, my sister), Num Num Num(Yummy) and sometimes she says HI. We think she says new stuff all the time but I am not sure she really means to say, "Good God," because the other day she was saying that and we were like oh she is saying "Good God" and Ryan kept saying back to her, "That's right Cate, God is Good."
* She now loves finger foods her favorites are: Peas, Carrots, Green Beans, bread, mac n cheese, ground beef, shredded chicken, cheese, blueberries, pears, bananas, peaches, egos, muffins, pancakes
* She feeds herself really well and is good a picking up stuff with her finger and thumb
* She takes a bottle but is starting to ween herself from it. She never finishes her bottle, either too tired or too busy
* She got her first tooth on June 28th and her second on July 6. Both on the bottom
* Also, on June 28th we made our first trip to the ER:( Cate was wheezing and gasping for air. We came home with a breathing machine that day. She hated the breathing treatment! We tried everything and nothing made it better for her:( Luckily only had to do treatments for two days!
* She loves twrilling her tongue and making the motor boat sound with her lips
* She still takes a paci but will only take the 0+ one and not the one for older babies. The nurse said that was ok though
* On July 15th she came down with her first stomach bug. She was staying at my parents house that night and I wasn't even there for her:(
* My mom, dad, sister, brother, Ryan and I, all got the stomach bug from her as well! Apparently it was a nasty bug! NO FUN
* She says BA BA BA BA BA all the time. It's her favorite word
* Loves helping in the kitchen! I let her help stir muffins and cookies. She's such a big helper!
* She loves the color green. She always go for everything green. Green is her daddy's favorite color too!
* She loves Sesame Street. When I shower in the morning, Cate watches Sesame Street
* She still naps twice a day. Usually two hours in the morning and 2-3 in the afternoon
* She still loves her swing. Sometimes she sits by it and reaches up for it
* She still plays and pulls her hair all the time
* Her hair is starting to get curly in the back. It's very cute
* She loves Daisy. Daisy lets her lay on her, pull on her, etc
* She loves being outside! She claps and cheers when we go outside
* When she eats something she really likes she bounces up and down in her high chair and claps in between bites
* She is a big waver! Loves waving to everyone
* She gives the best hugs. I ask her for a hug and she lays her head down on my shoulder
* She loves to sing in the car, really she is just rambling but it is a high pitch sound and sounds more like singing to me
* She loves drinking out of a sippy cup. Sometimes she drinks one handed and with her head flung back. It's hilarious!
* She loves playing with other kids. When a friend comes over she laughs and claps
* "This Little Piggie," is her favorite game to play. When the song comes on in the car, she grabs her piggies:)
* Also, Patty Cake is a favorite around her too

She is an absolute joy to be around and I am ever so blessed to be her mommy! I thank God every single day for blessing us with her! She is the light of our lives!!

Our Wedding Song

The other night I was laying in bed and Ryan came in with his IPHONE playing our wedding song! I LOVE our wedding song and still to this day feel like it still "fits" us so well:) He was singing it to me along with George Strait! One of our first out of town dates was to a George Strait concert and so it was fitting we had one of his songs as our first dance!! I love belting this song out at the top of my lungs and dancing around the room to it:) It makes me sooo happy and now it has even more meaning then it did before! Now I feel like all the words describe how I feel about Ryan and Cate!! What a great song!!

Almost 1 year old!

Can you believe that Cate is almost a year old? I cannot even begin to wrap my mind around it! Sometimes I find myself crying and feeling sad that a year has flown by so quickly! Then my amazing husband reminds me of how much fun the last (almost) 11 months have been and how amazing the next 11 will be and then I dry my eyes and smile!

Two nights before we had her:)


I have been party planning for a couple months now:) We are going with a cupcake theme of course! Because Cate is our little Cup-Cate:) So I've been searching etsy for ideas and blog hopping and trying to find out how to make Cate's First birthday simply AMAZING:) I picked out the cake:) I'm still deciding on the invites! I picked out the colors too:)

A Little Bit of THIS and a Little Bit of THAT:)

Today will be a totally random kind of update:) A little bit of what we have been up to lately:)


Today we went to the Little Gym for the first time and gosh did we have a great time!




Today while at Target, we put Finley and Cate in the same cart. They always seem to like the others paci more than their own! This picture cracks me up!



Also, while at Target we picked up these sweet treats and let me tell you.... YUMMMY in my TUMMY! Ahh! They are so so good! I had one after my lunch and one after my dinner! Three of them is 180 calories!



Somebody got sleepy at Target



A couple weeks ago my bestie Allison and I made the Pioneer Womens cinnamon rolls! They were a hit and oh so delish!



Cate has been quite the helper in the kitchen lately




Cate LOVES blueberry muffins and Trieve(My brothers puppy) does too:)



Ryan brought me home a surprise tonight! I LOVE him so much!!!!



I am in LOVE with Shrimp and Grits clothing!! IN LOVE:) I could order every piece there is:)
